NICOLE COREA

Nicole Corea is an internationally accomplished dancer, choreographer, educator, rehearsal director, adjudicator and mentor whose career spans more than 25 years across New York City, Australia, Europe, Japan, Rwanda, and the United States. A graduate of The Juilliard School, she has built a multifaceted career in performance, choreography, and dance education across both professional companies and tertiary institutions. She is currently an Associate Lecturer in Dance at University of Melbourne, Victorian College of the Arts. 

Nicole’s performance career has brought her to stages around the world with companies including the Lar Lubovitch Dance Company, Ballet Hispánico, Ballet Memphis, Elisa Monte and with renowned directors and choreographers in multiple productions at the Metropolitan Opera House. As a freelancer, she has worked with multiple independent choreographers including Vladimir Varnava, Mark Stuart Stephen Pier and Warren Adams, among others. She has taught internationally as a guest artist for master classes, workshops, conventions, lectures, and residencies throughout the United States, Europe, Japan, Rwanda, and Australia. 

She has acted as a rehearsal assistant to Lar Lubovitch and rehearsal director for the Steps Repertory Ensemble under the direction of Bradley Shelver. Through these roles she’s assisted in setting works for institutions and companies including Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, University of California, Irvine, Marymount Manhattan College, and Boston Conservatory at Berklee Summer Intensive and numerous independent choreographers in NYC. 

Her recent work in the U.S. includes a Guest Faculty Associate Professor position at the Florida State University, adjudicator for the Ballet Championships of America and the Joffrey Ballet School National Audition Tour.

Nicole’s choreographic works have been created with and presented by Ballet Memphis, Ballet Hispánico ChoreLab, Florida State University, the Victorian College of the Arts BFA program at the University of Melbourne, Queensland College of Dance, New England Academy of Dance for the YAGP Competition, the Jikei Group Colleges in Japan, and the Ubumuntu Arts Festival. 

In Australia, Nicole has taught for Australasian Dance Collective, Transit Dance, Lucy Guerin Inc, Queensland College of Dance, and Ballet Workshops Australia, and has collaborated in creative residency with choreographer Xanthe Geeves. She’s currently based in Melbourne and continues her work at the University of Melbourne at VCA Dance, performs with the M. Collective Dance Company and continues to work in the U.S and internationally with the Joffrey Ballet School while mentoring pre-professional and professional dancers throughout Australia and abroad.
